Liberace's Scott Thorson -- NOT Invited To Emmys

Exclusive Scott Thorson -- a central character in the HBO movie, "Behind the Candelabra" which has 16 nominations -- is getting anything BUT fabulous treatment, because he's NOT invited to the Emmys. An Emmy official tells TMZ -- it's simple ... Thorson -- who is played by Emmy nominee Matt Damon ... doesn't have a ticket and the event is sold out. It's not as if Liberace's former lover -- who's currently in an outpatient facility for drug abuse -- didn't want to go. TMZ obtained a letter dated August 8th and written by Scott's drug counselor, asking a drug court judge to give him a weekend pass to attend the Emmys. Rather than feeling snubbed, Scott now says it's a good idea that he stay away from Hollywood -- too tempting, and all that. You may recall ... Scott recently tested positive for meth. He could have gone to jail on a probation violation but the judge showed him mercy and ordered him to continue outpatient drug counseli

Razbaby RaZ-berry Teether, Red Purchaser Reviews

The teether (made in china) came out of the pack with a bad smell. The material used for construction seems to be unhygenic. Raspberry part is glued to the teether base. My doubts are that it can come off easily. The raspberry part was itself marked with black dots which i first thought are part of the design but when i rubbed them with my thumb... they vanished.Design is very good and practical but construction (raspberry glued, black dots) and material used is worse. - Ahmad Akram "Ahmad Akram" My daughter has never taken a pacifier, but I bought this for her anyway because it was so different. And sure enough when I tried to put it in her mouth, she spit it right out.But then she had a horrible fit of teething pain a few days later, and I gave this to her again, and she's loved it ever since. She can actually hold onto the ring, unlike most pacifiers, so she can put it in her mouth herself, take it out, chew on it however she likes, and repeat. The gr

Mary Meyer Taggies Plush Toss the Taggies Chime Ball, Colors Customer Reviews

Taggies products are so fantastic, and this item does not disappoint. The plush is very soft and the ball makes a gentle jingling sound. Perfect for babies. - Velvet Heaps Always love every taggie I get for baby gifts. It is neat seeing new mothers give their friends the same gift when they attend baby showers. - Rand He plays with it all the time. Best for babies 6+ Tags are of course, a favorite element but the chimes are really a cool feature. The tags make it easy for little fingers to grab it and move it around. This is one of my baby's favorite toys. - Qutie I have twin boys (4 months old) and they love rubbing their fingers on the taggies. Great for fine motor skill development. - Super T My daughter loves this toy. It is played with often and has held up well to washing. I am very pleased with this product. ORACLE TEAM USA victory in Race 13 forces 34th America's Cup to 11th day

Emirates Team New Zealand came within one nautical mile of winning the 34th Americas Cup today, but then fell afoul of the 40-minute time limit. When Race 13 was re-sailed, the Kiwis were thwarted by a penalty and good speed from defender ORACLE TEAM USA. ORACLE TEAM USA won the second attempt at Race 13 by 1 minute, 24 seconds after staring down the barrel of defeat. The defender was trailing by an estimated eight-tenths of a nautical mile in the first attempt, which was abandoned when the 40-minute time limit expired and with the Kiwis eying the finish line. ORACLE TEAM USAs fifth win kept the match alive at least one more day. Emirates Team New Zealand leads 8-3 and needs just one more victory to win the Americas Cup for the third time (1995, 2000). ORACLE TEAM USA, on the other hand, needs to win six consecutive races to retain the trophy it won in 2010, after being penalized 2 points by the International Jury. It was disappointing to be that close yet so far away, said E

Imaginext The Legend of King Arthur Sir Gawain vs. The Green Knight Figure Set Shopper Reviews

I bought these for my two sons. Like the other reviewer, we have the Imaginext castle. These figures actually go with a previous "King Arthur" castle made by Fisher-Price. That's why they aren't a perfect match for the updated Imaginext castle. That doesn't get in the way of my boys' imaginations. They love the King Arthur tales, and they are familiar with Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. The figures are plus to their already active imaginations, and they love staging battles. I wish Fisher-Price hadn't officially discontinued them. I love the fact that the kids can play with "literary" figures. - book lover/mom/teacher we bought the Imaginext Castle Christmas 2006 and ever since then my sons been asking for more things to go with it. But when I got these I was so disappointed. They don't really go with the castle because the feet are to small and can't work the platforms. The figures are made out of a cheaper plastic and the

New iPhones and iOS 7 team up for winning combo

Apple's new iPhone models.(Photo: Robert Deutsch USA TODAY) Story Highlights Apple brings out two models for the first time The Touch ID fingerprint scanner works well and is useful NEW YORK It's perfectly reasonable to assume that anyone thinking about buying a new iPhone when the latest devices hit retail on Friday would fixate on the hardware itself, especially with Apple trotting out two new models. Apple is unleashing colorful handsets called the iPhone 5c, priced at $99 to start with a contract. And a brand new $199-on-up flagship phone, the iPhone 5s, brings with it beefy 64-bit computing power, a souped-up camera and the feature most people are pointing to, the Touch ID fingerprint reader. But the biggest change to come to the iPhone arrives with iOS 7, the operating system at the heart of the newest handsets. As of Wednesday, it can also be downloaded to freshen up the iPhone 4, iPhone 4S and the now discontinued iPhone 5 as well as some iPads and the iPod

Costa Concordia Salvage Operation a 'One-Time Opportunity'

More than 500 engineers from 24 countries have begun a make-or-break engineering feat to pull the crippled Costa Concordia from its side to an upright position in the waters off Tuscany, Italy. Never before have engineers tried to right such a huge ship so close to land. The goal is to raise it from its side by 65 degrees to vertical, as a ship would normally be, for eventual towing. The salvage operation is a highly complicated procedure and there's no predicting what will happen. The cruise liner could break apart, causing an environmental disaster or roll back onto its side. If the operation succeeds, the Concordia will be towed away and broken up for scrap. Three hours into the operation, the salvage team reported that they managed to dislodge the vessel from the reef after 6,000 tons of force were applied. The Costa Concordia struck a reef near Giglio Island Jan. 13, 2012, killing 32 of the 4,200 passengers and crew members. The bodies of two of the dead have never b

Breaking Bad review, "Ozymandias"

"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"-- Percy Bysshe Shelley It's gotten to the point that Walter White has lied so many times on Breaking Bad, that's it's almost impossible to recognize when he's telling the truth. And it's definitely gotten to the point where I don't even know what to think anymore. This show has been forty-seven steps ahead of everyone from the beginning. Each week, millions of people tweet and comment and converse about the show; and each week every last one of us, to a man, is wrong. I didn't see anyone predict that Walt would kidnap Holly or that Skyler would tell Junior about his father's other job. I didn't guess that Landry would "save" Jesse's life and force him to cook, which really was a pretty genius move for Landry, who is not known for his genius moves. What happens in this episode is really the continued devolution of Heisenberg. He begins th
